Our Founders
Two disciplines.
One standard.
Paren was not built by marketers. It was built by two operators from two different sides of the same table — one from wealth strategy, one from real estate — who spent their careers watching good people end up with the wrong agent. This is our answer.

Kevin Hwang
Founder & Managing Partner
Kevin brings the capital-markets perspective that most real estate services do not have. As Principal CEO of Aberdeen Young Asset Management in San Diego, he has spent his career at the intersection of wealth preservation, portfolio strategy, and long-horizon planning — advising clients on how to grow, protect, and transfer meaningful assets. Real estate, for nearly every one of those clients, sits at the center of the balance sheet.
Based in San Diego, Kevin anchors Paren's presence across the southern half of our coverage map — from La Jolla and Del Mar through Orange County's coastal corridors. He understands real estate the way his clients actually experience it: not as a transaction to be closed, but as a decision that touches retirement timelines, estate plans, generational wealth, and the life a family is trying to build around it.
Kevin founded Paren because he watched too many of his clients get paired with agents who were qualified on paper but wrong for the moment — agents who did not understand the financial stakes, the timeline sensitivities, or the human complexity of the decision in front of them. His vision for Paren is to hold every client introduction to the same rigor a fiduciary owes to a portfolio recommendation: the right fit, for the right reasons, made by someone who understands what is actually on the table.

Grant Law
Co-Founder & Managing Partner
Grant's career in Southern California real estate spans nearly two decades and an unusual range of seats at the table. He began on the finance side — underwriting mortgages and running wholesale lending accounts — before earning his license and moving into sales. That early exposure to how money actually moves through a transaction gave him a perspective most agents never develop: he understands not just how to close a deal, but why it closes, what breaks it, and how to protect everyone at the table when it gets complicated.
Over the years that followed, Grant served as a principal managing broker, built an in-house mortgage loan origination division from the ground up, and co-founded Laura + Grant Real Estate — one of the San Gabriel Valley's most recognized residential teams, consistently ranked among the Top 1.5% of Realtors Nationwide. Today he serves as Director of Growth at Craft & Bauer, a multi-state brokerage operating under Real Broker, where he advises and recruits agents across three states.
Grant joined Kevin in building Paren because the industry's default approach to matching clients with agents — Google searches, yard signs, friend-of-a-friend referrals — is not good enough for transactions of this size or significance. He anchors Paren's presence across Los Angeles County and the San Gabriel Valley, and applies the same standards to agent evaluation that he has spent two decades applying to transactions: direct, uncompromising, and relationship-first.
